New Height Energy was founded in 2022 by seasoned industry professionals with a deep understanding of the Permian Basin and the forgotten value that it still holds. Our founders and leadership team brings diverse experiences to a shared vision of leveraging a keen sense of operational efficiency to extract forgotten value in historically distressed assets. Jon Benavides

Jon Benavides has been in the oil and gas industry for more than 11 years now. After graduating from Texas Tech in 2013, he started working for Occidental Petroleum supporting their Delaware Basin before moving to Callon Petroleum. During his career, Jon has filled numerous roles from Facility and Production Engineering to Production Foreman and Workover Supervisor giving him a unique perspective of multiple facets within upstream production operations. Jon also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech.

Scott Trackwell

Scott Trackwell is the Chief Financial Officer at New Height Energy and brings over 16 years of extensive experience in the energy industry, with a specialized focus on the upstream sector. Scott was formerly an Investment Banking Executive Director at Moelis and Company and an Associate at Scotiabank’s upstream investment banking division (formerly known as ScotiaWaterous). Additionally, Scott formerly served as the Vice President of Finance at Sable Permian Resources. Scott has advised and participated in more than $10 B of upstream M&A, A&D and capital markets transactions. Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Houston, and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas

Kendal L. Bryand

Kendal has more than 22 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and has been with New Height Energy, LLC since August 2023. Kendal is primarily focused on business development, due diligence, title, leasing, and drilling operations. Prior to joining New Height Energy, LLC, Ms. Bryand served as a Senior Trust Oil, Gas & Mineral Asset Manager with Wells Fargo Bank. Additionally, she served as a Staff Landman at Anadarko Petroleum where she managed a vigorous rig program in the Delaware Basin. Ms. Bryand has experience in the Midland Basin, the Delaware Basin, and the New Mexico Shelf. Kendal earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. She is also a Certified Professional Landman.

Matt Lippman

Matt joined New Height Energy Management in February 2023. During Matt’s 20-year career he has served in a variety of Engineering and Operations Management roles for Laredo Petroleum, Citation Oil & Gas, and ConocoPhillips, working both conventional and unconventional assets across the state of Texas. The majority of his roles have been in the Production realm, with additional exposure to Drilling and Completions. Matt holds a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Brady Rutledge

Joined New Height Energy Management as a Production Superintendent in December 2022. Mr. Rutledge has a career that spans over 15 years as an oil and gas operator. Throughout his career he has played a key role in leadership, asset development/management, and strategic planning for both private equity backed and independent corporations. Prior to joining New Height Energy Management, Rutledge served as Production Superintendent for Relentless Permian Operating (2018-2022). He began his career as a Lease Operator/ Well Tech with Plantation Petroleum Company IV (2009-2011). Afterwards, Rutledge worked as the Production Foremen for Plantation Petroleum Company V and ultimately served as Operations Manager (2011-2018). Mr. Rutledge holds a B.S. degree in Economics as well as an MBA from Tarleton State University.

Cam Shock

Cam has nearly 20 years of experience in upstream oil and gas operations, starting his career as a pipeline welder and working his way up to high level management positions. Cam’s hard work ethic and keen mechanical understanding earned him a key position as one of Parsley Energy’s founding field team members, eventually earning his position as a Production Superintendent. Cam’s leadership since 2022 has been pivotal to New Height Energy’s success as well as the success of our clients. His diverse experience in field operations positions him as a unique leader for a wide variety of asset portfolios.
